Korean dishes have had their limelight as of late, and for good reason! This dish is a shortcut to getting that savory-sweet flavor at home, coming together in about 20 minutes. As a bonus: this makes for a great meal prep item as the leftovers can be used for wraps and salads throughout the week!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1lb Mighty Spark’s Ground Turkey
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch green onions, cut on the bias
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (we prefer low sodium!)
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp red chili flakes (or to-taste)
  • Sesame seeds for topping (optional)
  • Rice, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Mix well and let sit
  2. In skillet, heat vegetable oil. Once warm, add garlic and red pepper flakes. Heat until fragrant. Once fragrant, add Mighty Spark’s Ground Turkey and brown into whatever size crumbles you prefer for about 3 minutes. Drain
  3. Once turkey has been drained, stir in the mixture from step one. Let simmer for about 3 minutes, the mixture will have thickened slightly and will continue to thicken as it cools
  4. Stir in green onions and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top
  5. Serve over rice of choice
